Treatment of Chronic Wound using Quorit Wound Dressings
Assess the wound (Use the free Wound Assessment Sheet provided with the QuoroFiber Box)
Dimension – length and breadth Use free sterile Wound Measurement Kit provided with the QuoroFiber box to measure the wound dimensions.
Colour
Odour
Granulation
Consistency
Colour and amount of exudate
Take picture for monitoring wound healing progression
Preparation of wound bed
Thorough Debridement – Use QuoroClean debridement pad for faster and more consistent debridement.
Clean & irrigate the wound bed wound with Normal Saline
Clean peri-wound area with local antiseptic.
For infected wounds, do antibiotic management as per sensitivity test
Dressing
Cover the wound area with QuoroSkin or QuoroSkin-D
Depending on the condition of the wound, based on assessment by the treating medical practitioner, QuoroGel can be used instead.
Cover with QuoroMesh -a non-adherent wound protective mesh
Mild exudating wound
Cover with moist non-adherent dressing like cotton or gauze dressing (Combine Dressing, Gauze Swab, Gamgee Roll, etc)
Moderate to heavy exudating wound
Cover withQuoroFoam– 5-layer foam dressing
Cut to required size and seal the wound
Dressing should be placed so that exudate does not spread to peri-wound area to avoid maceration
Use fixation dressing (gauze roll,microporous tape, etc) to keep dressing in place
Use the above application with dressing change until wound is completely healed.
Process for dressing change
Frequency of dressing changes to be determined by the treating medical practitioner. Dressing can be changed everyday, if required. Otherwise generally changedressings after 3-5 days.
Proper nutrition with Vitamin C enriched diet to be maintained and root cause to be treated
Repeat culture sensitivity test at least once in 15 days
