:: Composition

There are two major types of gauze wound dressings: woven and non-woven. Gauze is a type of thin medical fabric with a loose open weave used in wound care. Cotton Gauze fabric is a soft and semi-sheer fabric that is both breathable and light-weight. Cotton Gauze fabric is woven using a special technique that involves twisting horizontal warp threads around the vertical weft threads, resulting in a soft, crinkled, and loosely-woven texture with a slight vertical stretch.  Non-woven gauze dressings are made up of synthetic fiber or rayon.
